RFID Applications Engineering Co-op - Fall 2027 (plus one semester)

About the role
We are seeking innovators, collaborators, and problem solvers for our Co-Op Program, which cultivates future talent through experiential on-the-job learning, a dynamic environment, access to business leaders, and a supportive team. As an RFID Applications Engineer Co-Op, you will support product engineers in developing RFID tags, printer systems, and RFID reader systems operating in the HF and UHF bands. The role is primarily based in an office or application lab, focusing on testing, data collection, data organization, and reporting using automated RFID test systems and RFID printer/reader systems.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with engineers and influence product development and customer use case decisions.
- Develop deep knowledge of RFID technology, enabling advancements in the Internet of Things, Blockchain, and Omni-Channel fulfillment.
- Collaborate in a technical team environment, applying testing methods, critical thinking, data analysis, and reporting in spreadsheets.
- Support product engineers in the development of RFID tags, printer systems, and reader systems operating in the HF and UHF bands.
- Utilize automated RFID test systems and RFID printer/reader systems for testing, data collection, data organization, and reporting.
- Generate technical and customer-facing reports.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or another engineering discipline.
- Must be at least junior standing.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
- Must be willing to join for at least two semesters, including one non-summer term.
- Ability to travel 10–20 percent of the time.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CNC Technology.
- General familiarity with electronic systems and introductory programming background (Python, C#).
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, or Google equivalents.
- Previous co-op experience.
- Experience via student organizations (e.g., Engineers without Borders, ASME, ASChE, SWE, NSBE, SHPE) or volunteerism.

Pay
The hourly salary for this position is $25.50–$29.00/hour, based on academic standing.
