RF Test Technician 2nd shift/3rd shift/Weekends

About the role
As part of a team of Wireless Test Technicians and Engineers, you will contribute to the provision of a Wireless testing service, specifically performing RF (Radio Frequency) testing on a variety of IoT Wireless technologies such as WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Cellular (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE / 5G NR), SRD 433/868MHz, and VHF. We offer a flexible approach to recruitment, considering candidates at a Technician level (with training provided) or a more experienced Engineer level. TÜV SÜD will provide all necessary training to undertake the duties of this role.

Responsibilities
- Testing of wireless products to various test standards (e.g., ETSI and FCC) both in the wireless test labs at Octagon House and in-situ at customer premises.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements or defined test plans supplied by the customer.
- Accurate recording of test results using electronic logbook systems and production of test reports, following company quality procedures.
- Working with customers during attended testing.
- Close liaison with the Project Manager to ensure work is carried out accurately and within allowed timescales.
- Development of test methods and other departmental documentation.
Requirements
Essential Criteria for Technician Level Role
- A desire to learn new skills and willingness to understand new disciplines.
- Basic understanding of IT and/or Electronics.
- Ability to work independently and be proactive.
Additional Criteria for Engineer Level Role
In addition to the above, for an Engineer level role, we require one or more of the following:
- Experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum/network analyzer, oscilloscope, signal generator, RF power meter, etc.
- Knowledge of Radiated and/or Conducted testing, predominantly working to FCC and/or ETSI standards.
Highly Desirable Criteria for Either Role
- Educated to Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or able to demonstrate equivalent and relevant experience.
- Good understanding of IT equipment from previous job roles.
Desirable Criteria for Either Role
- A good understanding of analogue and digital communications technologies.
- Experience performing RF accredited testing on Wireless technologies.
- Ability to work on various shift patterns.

Hours: 40 hours per week (hours TBD; may include 2nd/3rd shifts and weekends once trained)
