RF Test Engineer
About the role
Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on the camera as a tool to improve human communication. The Spectacles team at Specs Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, develops advanced eyewear that integrates digital experiences into the physical world using see-through lenses and Snap OS, a proprietary context-aware operating system. We are seeking an RF Test Engineer to develop test solutions for the RF and wireless subsystems of Spectacles.
Responsibilities
- Develop test solutions (both hardware and software) for RF and wireless subsystems of Spectacles.
- Create test plans and report creation tools to validate wireless subsystems.
- Author clear and comprehensive documentation.
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of RF engineering principles and measurements at the physical layer.
- Understanding of test methodology for wireless standards such as WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE, and cellular.
- Demonstrated ability to use and automate RF and electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signaling/non-signaling testers, power supplies).
- Ability to create test environments using Python, Labview, or other software tools.
- Direct experience automating and/or scripting Android and/or Linux embedded devices.
- Experience developing data processing tools to analyze and present test data.
- Statistical analysis experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, software engineering) or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing testing environments and solutions for circuits and systems.
- Experience working with Android and/or Linux-based devices.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in RF/Electrical engineering or a related field.
- Experience performing RF measurements in a lab environment (e.g., ALCR, EVM, receiver sensitivity, out-of-band emissions).
- Ability to debug hardware and software products/tools.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Pay
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions, and may be negotiable within the salary range.
- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $190,000–$284,000 annually.
- Zone B: $181,000–$270,000 annually.
- Zone C: $162,000–$241,000 annually.
Schedule
This role follows a “default together” approach, requiring team members to work in an office 4+ days per week.
