RF Field Technician

Aero Constructors LLC is hiring a full-time Tower Technician to join our field team, performing tower construction, maintenance, lighting, antenna, and RF line work for wireless carriers, utility companies, broadcasters, and government/public safety customers throughout Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

About the role

The Tower Technician will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of communication towers and related equipment, including tower lighting systems, antennas, RF transmission lines, mounting hardware, grounding, cabling, and other telecom infrastructure. This is a hands-on, physically demanding field position requiring dependability, mechanical aptitude, and comfort working outdoors and at heights.

This role may be a strong fit for candidates with backgrounds in climbing, farming/ranching, construction, mechanical/electrical trades, military, utility, telecom, or field-service work. Prior tower experience is helpful but not required; we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade communication towers and related equipment
• Work with tower lighting systems, antennas, RF transmission lines, mounting hardware, grounding, and cabling
• Perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor and elevated environments
• Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
• Work independently and follow detailed instructions

Travel Requirements

• Primarily day travel within assigned territory (Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming)
• Occasional overnight travel depending on job location (2–5 nights per week during certain projects)
• $35/day per diem for overnight stays

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Basic computer and smartphone skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to work independently and follow detailed instructions
• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Physically and mentally able to climb and work at heights over 150 feet
• Must provide basic hand tools and appropriate outdoor work gear

Pay

• Hourly rate: $22.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Estimated annual earnings: $70,000–$130,000 with overtime
• Overtime paid at 1.5x

Schedule

• Typically 40–60 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling when job conditions allow

Work Location

This is an in-person, field-based position with travel to various job sites throughout Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Regular office attendance is not required, but occasional reporting to a company shop, supplier, or staging location may be necessary.
