Job Description
The RF Designer position at Communication Technology Services (CTS) requires a high energy, dedicated individual who can work between the design and construction phases of a project. Key responsibilities include:
- Create documents that are client-facing and impact the success of the company.
- Select the most efficient solutions through application-based engineering approaches.
- Work with Design Center to validate engineering approaches and improve efficiency.
- Develop relationships with management level employees, sales, and engineering relationships with OEM partners.
- Be exposed to the latest technology in the in-building wireless industry and receive detailed information on new products before they are publicly released.
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Layout DAS designs in iBwave.
- Follow direction of Central Engineering Lead.
- Work at a PC for extended hours.
- Understand frequency bands, protocols, and signal strength quantifiers.
- Understand Repeater and DAS OEM equipment and their architectures.
- Learn RF Math and its application to design.
- Set up 3D modeling in iBwave.
- Layout thorough and clean DAS designs.
- Produce accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Produce fiber and rack diagrams in Visio.
- Run propagation models in iBwave.
- Export and consolidate designs, plots, and reports as needed.

Skills
Desired skills include:
- Knowledge of frequency bands, protocols, and signal strength quantifiers.
- Understanding of Repeater and DAS OEM equipment and their architectures.
- Ability to set up 3D modeling in iBwave.
- Experience with iBwave for DAS design.
- Proficiency in Visio for diagram creation.
- Ability to run propagation models in iBwave.

Pay
