Job Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of electronic components, PCBs, and assemblies for defects, damage, and compliance with quality specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, soldering irons, and rework stations to remove, replace, and re-solder surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting of non-conforming products to identify root causes of failures.
- Apply rework techniques such as wire modification, trace repair, and component alignment according to engineering drawings and rework instructions.
- Operate and maintain rework equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Document rework activities, including defects found, repairs made, and time taken, in the designated system.
- Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and production teams to address recurring issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A technical certification or vocational training in electronics is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in electronic rework, soldering, and assembly within a manufacturing environment are required.
- Proficiency in fine-pitch soldering and de-soldering techniques for SMT and through-hole components is essential.
- The ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, assembly drawings, and rework instructions is necessary.
- Familiarity with various electronic components, their functions, and common failure modes is important.
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity for detailed work are required.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and accessing work instructions are beneficial.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production setting is crucial.
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions and cleanroom procedures is important.
- An excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work are expected.
