Position Summary
Takes a roll of fabric and rewinds it to remove a problem or break it down into smaller rolls to meet customer quality or quantity requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Rewire large rolls by threading up the machine and running rolls to customers desired lengths.
- Wrap and identify finished rolls of fabric and bundle or palletize if required.
- Tag rolls for identification.
- Rewind rolls on hold by threading up and running roll to the area of flaw, remove flaw by splicing it if required.
- Conduct quality checks on material as required.
- Assist on the Coater as necessary (wrapping rolls or other duties trained to do).
- Clean up, sweep area around the machine including the main aisle.
- Bundle and bail scrap material.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience as a machine operator preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team player.
Physical Demands/Requirements
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- The employee is often required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job, include close vision and good color vision.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee must work near moving mechanical parts.
