Responsibilities
- Develop collaborative relationships with client teams while helping client teams follow processes.
- Perform risk assessment of contract terms to determine potential risks to the business.
- Complete contract setup in Workday based on terms and conditions observed in contract and ensure that all cost elements are appropriately accounted for.
- Partner with project teams to ensure that contracts are setup appropriately to accommodate revenue recognition and billing.
- Support post-contract activities consisting of change orders, modifications, and closing of contracts.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to consistently throughout the contract.
- Assist with revenue month-end close processes.
- Assist with year-end audit requests as needed.
- Review transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
- Analyze variable consideration (e.g., discounts, rebates, or penalties) and determine its impact on revenue recognition.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures for revenue, including preparation of revenue-related journal entries, reconciliation, and reports.
- Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or similar discipline.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to learn quickly.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, ability to express complex situations clearly.
- Strong knowledge of contract setup.
- Ability to maintain strict deadlines and ensure responsibilities are completed in a timely fashion.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Expert with Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
- ASC 606 experience, a plus.
- Workday experience, a plus.
