About the role
The Credit Balance Specialist plays a crucial role in the Revenue Operations Department, focusing on analyzing EOBs and payor correspondence to reconcile system credit balances and resolve problem accounts.
Responsibilities
- Research, initiate follow-up, and resolve all health care insurance claim accounts with existing credit balances.
- Navigate through various payer systems and multiple internal systems to ensure timely and accurate resolution of claims.
- Use critical and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to effectively manage large amounts of detailed information.
- Communicate effectively with peers, leaders, clinical personnel, and payer representatives to resolve credit balances.
- Contribute to the implementation of process improvement initiatives aimed at improving credit department performance.
- Support monthly reporting of outstanding credit balances.
- Stay current on communications relating to healthcare reimbursement and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years' experience with accounting, transactions, or medical billing systems (optional).
- Experience with healthcare credits and revenue cycle management (optional).
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.

Pay
The wage range for the role is $19.50 - $25.50/hour. Compensation depends on a number of factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
