About the role
Assists with hiring of Revenue Integrity and Authorizations team members. Coordinates the work of the teams and approves time off requests. Mentors, sets goals, and manages performance evaluations for Revenue Integrity and Authorizations team staff. This position is eligible for University Physicians work-from-home program.
Responsibilities
- Develops and concurrently reviews charge audit, charge capture, and reconciliation processes.
- Oversees authorization reject and terminal denial reviews.
- Coordinates charge capture improvement and evaluates revenue impact.
- Engages with department stakeholders to implement process improvement initiatives related to revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Facilitates collaborative work efforts between the Revenue Integrity team and other University Physicians teams.
- Monitors and assesses integrity risks, ensuring the revenue integrity program is responsive to those risks.
- Leads regular internal staff meetings.
- Provides periodic reports to the Revenue Integrity Director regarding program status, corrective actions, and recommended changes.
- Ensures staff members are knowledgeable about revenue assurance needs and reimbursement issues identified through audits, reviews, and data analysis.
- Monitors and reports Return on Investment (ROI) of the Revenue Integrity team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, healthcare, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare revenue cycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in one of the following:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H), or Certified Professional Coder-Payer (CPC-P) by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) by Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) by Compliance Certification Board (CCB).
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN/LPN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN/LPN.
- Other registered health technician (e.g., Respiratory Therapists, Radiology Technicians).
Pay
Salary Range: $78,520.00 - $127,961.60 annually
