As a Revenue Cycle Reporting Specialist, you will help turn complex data into clear insights that support better financial performance and a more efficient experience for patients and staff. You will partner with teams across finance, revenue cycle, and operations to provide meaningful reporting and analysis that helps guide decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deliver reporting on key revenue cycle areas such as denials, claim edits, productivity, and performance metrics
- Analyze trends and identify opportunities to improve financial outcomes and operational efficiency
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to support business users
- Write and manage SQL queries to support reporting and data analysis needs
- Collaborate with finance, revenue cycle, and IT teams to translate data into clear, actionable insights
- Support data quality efforts, including validating and reconciling information across systems
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in reporting tools, data models, and processes
- Aid in maintaining documentation and supporting data governance standards

Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.
- The ideal candidate has practical experience with healthcare revenue cycle analytics, including claims processing, claim edits, denials analysis, and revenue cycle workflows. Familiarity with HFMA key performance indicators and experience supporting denial trends, root cause reporting, and quality metrics are preferred.
- The candidate should be able to interpret financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable insights for finance and revenue cycle stakeholders. Strong working knowledge SQL is required, including the ability to write and maintain moderately complex queries to support reporting and analysis. Experience validating data, reconciling results to source systems, and identifying data quality issues in claims and financial datasets is expected. Proficiency with Power BI is required, including building and maintaining clear visualizations and reports for finance and revenue cycle users as well as working with semantic models and DAX measures.
- The successful candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to handle multiple requests concurrently. Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with finance, revenue cycle, and IT partners in a healthcare environment are essential.
