About the Role

The Revenue Cycle Improvement/Payer Credentialing Coordinator serves as a central operational resource for revenue cycle performance improvement across Patient Access, Coding, Billing, Finance, and clinical departments. This role identifies operational inefficiencies, performs root cause analysis, and coordinates process improvement initiatives to enhance revenue integrity, compliance, and financial performance. The coordinator collaborates with operational departments to ensure workflows support accurate charge capture, timely billing, denial prevention, and optimal reimbursement. Additionally, the role assists leadership by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, and supporting operational initiatives that strengthen revenue cycle performance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify operational inefficiencies within the revenue cycle.
  • Perform root cause analysis to address issues impacting revenue integrity and financial performance.
  • Coordinate process improvement initiatives across Patient Access, Coding, Billing, Finance, and clinical departments.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure workflows support accurate charge capture, timely billing, denial prevention, and optimal reimbursement.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends to support revenue cycle performance.
  • Assist leadership in implementing operational initiatives to strengthen revenue cycle outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Patient Access
    • Insurance verification
    • Prior authorizations
    • Medical billing
    • Revenue integrity
    • Denial management
  • Ability to operate a computer, 10-key calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of computer systems, process design, and data management.
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Mental and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 3–5 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with performance improvement, auditing, or operational quality initiatives.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
