Responsibilities
- Supervise 15 FTE within the departments’ units.
- Collaborate with departmental resources affiliated with the billing processes.
- Oversee Revenue Managers responsible for hiring, reassigning and other performance management duties, and/or provide direct management oversight for unit personnel as appropriate or when revenue managers are unavailable.
- Familiarize with all applicable federal and local billing and coding regulations and communicate these regulations to all levels of faculty, management and staff.
- Serve to oversee compliant professional fee billing, maintain a compliance manual or website of resources for the team, conduct service audits, and provide written reports to the Medical Center compliance office, department chair, and department directors.
- Collaborate with peers and others in the FPO to optimize revenue management performance across systems, share best practices, and achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Seven years or more of management experience in healthcare.
- Physician Coding experience to include in-depth knowledge of ICD 10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, including modifier application and global surgery rules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced ability to select correct E/M levels based on medical necessity, MDM, and time requirements.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems, coding platforms, and billing tools.
- Capacity to design and optimize coding workflows, reduce denials, and improve reimbursement rates.
- Oversee coding projects, timelines, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience using Epic.
- Experience and knowledge of bargaining units.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Professional (RHIP).
