About the role
The Revenue Integrity department at UCI Health has systemwide responsibilities for ensuring accurate charge capture for both hospital and professional services. The incumbent serves as an expert in quality assurance, programming, and clinical interpretations to support revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed and in-depth analysis, quality assurance, reporting consultation, and recommendations in support of revenue cycle management functions.
- Interact with all levels of management and staff to provide education and training on necessary documentation, interpretation, and system applications.
- Facilitate accurate reimbursement through appropriate charge capture.
- Regularly interact with all levels of management and staff to provide education and training on necessary documentation, interpretation, and system applications.
- Provide supervisory duties for the department.
Requirements
- Subject matter expertise in healthcare revenue cycle operations, concepts, and policies.
- Coding Certification (CPC, COC, or AHIMA equivalent) or RHIT.
- High level analytical skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of interface communication systems and data transmission.
- Familiarity with software packages.
- Experience with both facility and physician provider charging and coding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- 5+ years' experience in a leadership/supervisory position in a Revenue Integrity or Revenue Cycle role.
- 5 years internal and/or external auditing experience.
