Revenue and Technical Manager

About the role

The Senior Manager, Revenue & Technical Accounting role is a highly visible position within a high-growth technology company’s expanding finance organization. Based in San Francisco, CA, this role is hybrid, with in-office expectations 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research and documentation related to complex accounting transactions and business activities
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, position papers, and technical accounting memos
• Oversee revenue recognition processes, including contract reviews and analysis of non-standard arrangements
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate the accounting implications of new products, services, and business initiatives
• Manage stock-based compensation accounting and support other complex accounting areas as needed
• Lead the preparation of internal financial reporting packages and support the financial statement preparation
• Assist with audit readiness and serve as a key contact for external auditors
• Support tax and compliance activities through coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable accounting solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and active CPA license
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and industry experience
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, with significant experience in revenue recognition and technical accounting
• Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and complex accounting transactions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams in a high-growth environment

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual's skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
