Company: FinTech / AI / SaaSRole: Revenue Accounting ManagerSalary: $140,000 - $160,000 + equity Location: New York City - (5 days onsite) About the Role: Our client, a growing Enterprise AI and Financial Tech firm, is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead accounting and reporting activities related to revenue, customer contracts, billing operations, and the order-to-cash process. This role will play a key part in ensuring revenue is recognized accurately, financial reporting is compliant with applicable accounting standards, and operational processes scale effectively as the business grows. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with operational mindset and enjoys partnering across finance, sales, operations, and customer-facing teams. Must come from the SaaS / Technology / AI industry and be a licensed CPA with a Big 4 background. Responsibilities:Review customer agreements and evaluate accounting treatment for revenue-related transactionsApply applicable revenue recognition guidance and prepare supporting documentation for accounting conclusionsLead monthly revenue accounting activities, including reconciliations, reporting, accruals, and account analysesMaintain schedules related to deferred revenue, contract assets, contract liabilities, and other revenue-related balancesSupport accounting for customer acquisition costs, commissions, and related amortization activitiesPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure billing, invoicing, and revenue processes operate accurately and efficientlyMonitor data integrity across systems involved in the order-to-cash cycle and identify process improvement opportunitiesOversee customer billing administration, collections support, dispute resolution, and related reporting activitiesCoordinate with external auditors and provide support for audits, reviews, and compliance-related requestsDevelop and maintain accounting policies, process documentation, and internal controls related to revenue operationsAssist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts as the organization growsSupport special projects involving new products, pricing models, commercial arrangements, or business initiatives QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA required6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant revenue accounting responsibilityStrong understanding of revenue recognition principles and technical accounting guidanceExperience reviewing and accounting for complex customer contracts and commercial arrangementsExperience with billing systems, ERP platforms, CRM systems, and revenue-related reporting processesFamiliarity with multi-entity, multi-currency, or international business environments preferredExperience supporting external audits and preparing technical accounting documentationStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholdersBackground in software, technology, subscription-based, recurring revenue, or other contract-driven business modelsExperience improving revenue processes, implementing controls, or supporting system integrationsExposure to high-growth or rapidly evolving organizationsStrong data analysis and reporting capabilities By submitting to this position, you are agreeing to be included in our talent pool for future hiring for similarly qualified positions.
