About the role

In this visible and exciting role, the Revenue Accountant III will assist in monthly and quarterly processes, including Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis and reporting. The role will also share responsibilities for SOX compliance and system projects within the Revenue Recognition team. Additionally, this individual will act as a subject matter expert in Revenue Recognition, supporting internal revenue teams and business partners in reviewing, guiding, and implementing new go-to-market initiatives. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating across various functions such as Finance, Product, Sales, Business Technology (BT), and external vendors. This position reports to the Director of Revenue Recognition.

Responsibilities

  • Review SSP calculations and enhance operational processes as the business evolves.
  • Identify and address gaps in policies, including SSP, stemming from new go-to-market and sales initiatives.
  • Draft technical accounting memos related to new guidance, non-standard transactions, and business models.
  • Create presentations for company management and external auditors on technical topics.
  • Assist with IT system projects, including Revenue Management System upgrades and acquired entity integration.
  • Collaborate with business partners to address technical revenue recognition concerns for new deal models, pricing, and partnerships.
  • Work with the Revenue Recognition team to improve processes and identify areas for automation.
  • Develop and maintain SOX compliance in collaboration with the Revenue Recognition team and business partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined Big 4 and/or industry finance experience specializing in revenue recognition.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in ASC 606 and SOX accounting standards.
  • Experience researching technical accounting topics and drafting technical memos and policies.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive results with minimal oversight.
  • Project management skills, including planning, task assignment, and status tracking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to debate difficult issues and present to an audience effectively.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of regional business practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS and software revenue recognition experience.
  • CPA/CRC certification.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fast-growing company.
  • Ability to establish relationships with executives across functions.
  • Experience in the hi-tech industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Revenue Management Software (Zuora Revenue).
  • Experience using Tableau is highly preferred.

$60 - $70 per hour
