Revenue Accountant II
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong Revenue Accountant II to join our growing accounting team in a revenue-focused role. This individual contributor position reports to the Revenue Accounting Manager and requires an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous financial controls and high-quality reporting.
About the role
The Senior Revenue Accountant is a key member of the revenue accounting team responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP, specifically ASC 606, across our subscription, services, and usage-based revenue streams with a focus on automation and process improvement. This role focuses on the end-to-end revenue recognition process, including contract review, financial close activities, and technical accounting assessments to support our rapidly scaling business.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and quarterly revenue activities in support of the financial close process, including recognizing revenue, fair value allocations, and various account reconciliations
- Prepare various quarterly and annual revenue assessments including standalone selling price, material right considerations, and others
- Assist in the preparation of revenue-related disclosures and metrics for internal and external reporting
- Assist with revenue automation projects, process improvements, and AI efficiencies as we continue to scale the business
- Support external auditors with quarterly revenue testing
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
- Collaborate with the company’s global accounting teams to ensure appropriate accounting of various revenue streams and partner accruals
- Collaborate with Order Management, Sales Operations, and Renewals team to ensure that transactions are properly reported in Salesforce and booked in NetSuite
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience, ideally with prior ASC 606 experience at a Software or SaaS-based technology company from public accounting or industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
- Self-starter with a high affinity for identifying and solving problems
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability
- Highly flexible in adapting to the needs of the team and organization
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with others
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office/Excel
- Ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Experience with SalesForce, NetSuite, OneStream, and Monday is a plus

This is a hybrid role out of our Detroit, MI office (2 days per week).

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience, education, and location.
