Retort Operating Assistant

Essential Job Duties

• Regular worksite attendance.
• Pressure cooking product for commercial sterilization.
• Load and unload baskets into retort machine.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist in cooking process as needed under supervision of Retort Supervisor.
• Absorb and verify retort process by completing paperwork required for filing.
• Assist in various production areas on an as needed basis.

Minimum Position Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand technical instructions.
• Detail oriented person required for this position.
• Ability to complete tasks in timely manner.
• Capable of lifting/pushing 40+ lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Always wear personal protective equipment.
• Participates actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions.
