About the role
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by serving as client lead with a focus on actuarial consulting and defined benefit pension administration.
Responsibilities
- Leadership of defined benefit administration and other actuarial projects for medium to large pension plans
- Ability to work through larger, more complex projects with little oversight and is responsible for the results, including explanations, presentations, and impact
- Administration tasks including the handling of complex benefit calculations, interaction with plan participants, coordination with pension plan trustees, and completion of annual compliance requirements
- Develop materials and lead presentations on complex topics that effectively communicate with client contact and plan participants
- Technical expertise and strategic direction on topics that affect our clients and our business
- Attend and lead discussion at regular benefit committee meetings
- Manage client financials with a focus on efficiency
- Supervise, guide and mentor less experienced colleagues
- Review of work for both technical accuracy and reasonability
- Periodic travel necessary to work with internal team; client travel necessary upon request of client (generally 4-6 client meetings per year)
Requirements
- 10+ years of actuarial work experience
- Significant experience and expertise in defined benefit administration
- Detail oriented and strong organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
- Ability to grow, manage and develop teams
- Proficient MS Office software (Word, Excel and Power Point)
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or similar degree
- Actuarial credentials, FSA, EA, or ASA
Skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Expertise in defined benefit pension administration
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to handle complex calculations and ensure accuracy
- Experience with MS Office applications

Pay
$170,000 - $195,000 annually
