About the role
The New Business Transition Specialist leads the implementation and transition of new retirement plan clients for USI Retirement, ensuring a smooth, accurate, and timely onboarding experience. In this role, you will be the primary point of coordination and consultation across clients, recordkeepers, and internal teams. You will guide implementation strategy, manage project milestones, resolve operational challenges, and facilitate the successful transition from sales to ongoing service.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation and conversion activities for new retirement plan clients, including 401(k), 403(b), and other qualified plans; guide the transition strategy and ensure successful onboarding from sales to service.
- Manage implementation timelines, priorities, and project milestones, proactively identifying risks or delays and escalating as needed.
- Cook up plan setup activities with recordkeepers, payroll providers, and internal teams; ensure alignment with plan requirements and implementation goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison across Sales, Relationship Management, Compliance, and Operations teams.
- Drive consultative onboarding meetings to review plan design, establish project expectations, and provide guidance regarding timelines, processes, and participant transition activities.
- Partner with compliance and operations teams to ensure plan documents and provisions are aligned.
- Maintain implementation tracking and support consistent use of workflows and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to enhance implementation processes, recommend improvements, and support the development of standardized tools and best practices.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in retirement plan administration, implementation, or operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of qualified retirement plans (e.g., ERISA, 401(k), compliance basics).
- Familiarity with plan documents, conversions, and payroll integration processes.
- Able to manage multiple implementations simultaneously.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong consultative and relationship management skills with the ability to influence outcomes and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications: CFP, CRC, or similar relevant certifications preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
