Retirement Plan Support Specialist
About the role
The Retirement Plan Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Retirement Plan Advisors team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive sales and service support, from prospecting and building compelling new business presentations to ensuring seamless client onboarding and ongoing service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed analyses and proposals for prospective clients by gathering and interpreting plan sponsor investment and current fee data to create pricing, profitability, and benchmarking comparisons.
- Provide administrative support, including activities with third-party recordkeepers, the distribution of recurring plan investment reviews, and assisting in resolving client requests.
- Ensure the ease of use and access, up-to-date information, and branding of virtual education websites, which are critical to the overall customer experience.
- Analyze target markets and identify potential new business opportunities, using tools such as Free ERISA, Larkspur, and providing constructive feedback to the sales team.
- Maintain benchmarking software (FI360) by reviewing, updating, and inputting competitor performance and fee information.
- Aid in fee processing, invoice creation/distribution, and timely collection of advisory fees for Retirement Plan Services account relationships.
- Support the CRM system by maintaining accurate information, including pipeline tracking and referral activity.
- Assist in meeting preparation, sales events, travel, and expense reimbursements as needed.
- Onboard new Advisors/review onboarding materials and handbook for training where applicable.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics, or Finance.
- Have 3-5 years within the financial services industry, or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
- Be proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe suite.
- Show an understanding of financial services products, particularly related to retirement plans and investment products and services.
- Have solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate follow-up action.
- Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Show excellent interpersonal skills that result in establishing and maintaining good relations with internal and external customers throughout the entire sales process.
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
