About the Role
The Retirement Plan Services Internal Sales Consultant supports sales growth and services existing relationships within the Retirement Plan Services Team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team to receive and respond to proposal requests from prospective clients, including participating in discovery calls with prospects.
- Research and examine information for prospective and current retirement plan clients; conduct comprehensive analyses, comparisons, and benchmarking of fees, services, and investments.
- Develop a strong understanding of competitors and effectively position the company’s solutions.
- Prepare and tailor proposal presentations for the sales team based on final analysis.
- Respond to technical product and competitive positioning questions.
- Schedule and prepare comprehensive review materials for existing clients, requiring internal coordination and follow-up with external vendors.
- Serve as support to existing relationships on a proactive and reactive basis.
- Assist with onboarding new retirement plan business, including compliance items and external vendor management.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, legislation, rules, and regulations; communicate them effectively to current and prospective clients.
- Work with team members to identify and suggest areas of improvement for policies, processes, and service levels.
Requirements
- Robust oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills to process and interpret multiple data points and present findings in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Work efficiently with minimal errors; detail-oriented.
- Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures.
- Prioritize changing tasks effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5 or more years of retirement plan service experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of retirement plan laws and regulations preferred.
- Ongoing industry training and continuing education.
- Retirement plan industry credentials and/or designations.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
- Experience with various virtual meeting platforms.
Pay
Base pay range: $56,000–$65,000 annually. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
