Duties And Responsibilities
- Administers end-to-end retirement plan operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations governing qualified retirement plans, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.
- Serves as program owner for retirement plans, providing governance, operational oversight, and alignment with organizational strategy and plan design intent.
- Partners with external vendors, including recordkeepers and consultants, for effective service delivery, issue resolution, and ongoing performance management.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including HR and Payroll, for accurate data exchange, consistent processes, and effective retirement plan administration.
- Led retirement plan design changes, system enhancements, and implementation initiatives, ensuring successful execution and clear cross-functional communication.
- Manages retirement governance activities, including committee support, reporting, documentation, and preparation of materials for decision-making and oversight.
- Serves as escalation point for complex participant issues and drives continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization, communication support, and moderately complex retirement-related projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience and/or training may be considered.
- 4–7 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
- Certifications preferred: ASPPA, CEBS, ERPA.
- Comprehensive knowledge of qualified and nonqualified retirement plan administration, including 401(k) structures and related regulatory frameworks (ERISA, IRS, DOL).
- Strong understanding of retirement plan compliance, governance, fiduciary principles, and operational risk management.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret plan data and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to manage vendors and coordinate external retirement service providers.
- Effective communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to independently manage a complex retirement program and drive process improvements.
