About the role

This role supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of qualified retirement plans for clients while developing the skills and knowledge to become a primary owner of a book of business. This position provides hands-on exposure to retirement plan structures, client relationships, and the broader OneDigital value proposition, with an emphasis on learning to deliver an exceptional client experience under the guidance of senior consulting team members.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Client Growth
    • Develop a working knowledge of OneDigital's full suite of employer-facing solutions in order to effectively support senior team members in positioning the right resources for each client's needs.
    • Support the identification of opportunities to introduce other OneDigital verticals and service lines to existing clients, contributing to relationship deepening and retention efforts.
    • Assist in RFP fulfillment processes and prospect-facing activities, leveraging market, regional, and national resources under the direction of senior consultants.
    • Participate in industry events, conferences, and prospect-facing engagements to build foundational market knowledge and professional presence.
  • Client Relationship Management & Retention
    • Support senior consulting team members in managing assigned client relationships, developing an understanding of each client's goals, plan design, and organizational objectives.
    • Participate in client meetings, strategic reviews, and plan sponsor communications, building the skills to independently own client interactions over time.
    • Assist in the execution of client relationship strategies, contributing to client satisfaction and retention goals.
    • Build trusted relationships with assigned client contacts through consistent follow-through, responsiveness, and attention to client needs.
  • Plan Consulting & Advisory Services
    • Support the delivery of retirement plan consulting services — including plan design, benchmarking, investment menu analysis, and fiduciary guidance — under the direction of senior team members, performing work directly and/or coordinating with Investment Consultants and other specialists.
    • Aid in coordinating participant education and engagement efforts, including working with Employee Engagement Managers for group delivery and connecting participants to Financial Advisors for individual needs where applicable.
    • Develop a working knowledge of regulatory and legislative developments affecting retirement plans, supporting senior consultants in preparing client communications and recommendations.
    • Support fiduciary training efforts for plan sponsors, leveraging national resources and best-practice frameworks under the guidance of senior team members.
    • Coordinate with OneDigital's internal retirement plan administration team to support testing, plan amendments, and compliance needs.
  • Team Coordination & Specialist Leverage
    • Work collaboratively within the client service team — including Client Relationship Managers, Investment Consultants, Employee Engagement Managers, and Financial Advisors — to support a coordinated client experience.
    • Develop an understanding of OneDigital's team-based service model and begin to apply it in day-to-day client and team interactions.
    • Proactively communicate client and service team needs to senior consultants to ensure continuity and quality of service delivery.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Expertise
    • Assist in conducting benchmarking due diligence to ensure clients' plans remain competitive and compliant with industry standards.
    • Maintain a developing understanding of ERISA regulations and fiduciary best practices; support senior consultants in applying that knowledge to client plan recommendations and communications.

    Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

    • Foundational understanding of ERISA regulations and fiduciary best practices, with a commitment to ongoing development.
    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with CRM tools; Salesforce experience preferred.
    • Continual learner mentality, able to adopt new solutions and interpret the impact of new laws for clients.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive client information, including personnel and financial data.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
    • Business travel up to 25%.
    • Must be licensed to allow registration as an IAR of OneDigital Investment Advisors.

    Education, Training and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field (preferred), or relevant experience in retirement plan services.
    • Must possess or be actively working toward a valid relevant securities license.
    • 2–5 years of retirement plan related experience required.
