Retirement Plan Administrator
About the role
We're seeking an experienced Retirement Plan Administrator to step into a highly visible role supporting a large corporate retirement plan. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for plan administration, working closely with Fidelity, payroll, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day administration of the company's 401(k) retirement plan
- Manage participant eligibility, enrollments, rollovers, loans, hardship withdrawals, and record maintenance
- Serve as the primary liaison with Fidelity and other external partners
- Perform bi-weekly employee data uploads and maintain ADP-to-Fidelity integration accuracy
- Reconcile payroll deductions, retirement contributions, and participant records
- Cook up and support Form 5500 preparation, review, and filing activities
- Absorb and support annual audits, compliance testing, and fiduciary requirements
- Prepare documentation and reports for auditors, advisors, and internal leadership
- Coordinate 401(k) committee meetings and track action items
Requirements
We're especially interested in candidates who have managed retirement plans for a corporate HR or Benefits team and can confidently own plan administration with minimal training.
Qualifications
5+ years of 401(k), retirement plan, or benefits administration experience
Experience working directly with Fidelity or another retirement plan recordkeeper
Strong knowledge of ERISA, Form 5500 reporting, and retirement plan compliance
Experience with payroll reconciliation, contribution remittance, and audit support
Familiarity with ADP or similar payroll systems
Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and quickly step into an active retirement plan environment
