Retirement Plan Administration Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 401(k) client relationships as the primary point of contact
  • Perform annual compliance testing (coverage, nondiscrimination, top-heavy, etc.)
  • Calculate employer contributions and reconcile trust accounts
  • Prepare and file annual government forms and participant statements
  • Complete or review plan transactions such as loans, distributions, RMDs, and QDROs
  • Interpret plan document provisions and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with clients, advisors, auditors, and other service providers
  • Stay current on retirement plan regulations through continuing education and research
  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives and team projects

Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct 401(k) plan administration experience, including compliance testing
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (ideally in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or Statistics)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with an aptitude for math and accounting
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Excellent communication, time management, and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or holding QKA, QPA, AKS, or APA certification is highly desirable
