Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 401(k) client relationships as the primary point of contact
- Perform annual compliance testing (coverage, nondiscrimination, top-heavy, etc.)
- Calculate employer contributions and reconcile trust accounts
- Prepare and file annual government forms and participant statements
- Complete or review plan transactions such as loans, distributions, RMDs, and QDROs
- Interpret plan document provisions and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with clients, advisors, auditors, and other service providers
- Stay current on retirement plan regulations through continuing education and research
- Participate in internal process improvement initiatives and team projects
Requirements
- 2+ years of direct 401(k) plan administration experience, including compliance testing
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (ideally in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or Statistics)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with an aptitude for math and accounting
- Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Excellent communication, time management, and client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or holding QKA, QPA, AKS, or APA certification is highly desirable
