About the role

Responsibilities
- Test and record patient’s far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
- Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing
- Triage emergency cases into physicians’ schedules and maintain patient flow
- Prepare patient and procedure rooms and assist ophthalmologists with procedures as needed
- Perform first-level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any malfunctions
- Utilize infection control techniques and universal precautions, maintaining confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Outgoing personality, enthusiastic about interacting with patients daily
- Comfortable providing white-glove service and responding quickly to patient needs
- Dependable problem-solver, able to stay calm in stressful situations
- Positive attitude and strong collaboration skills
- Flexible, able to adapt to changes
- Knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology, including anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in ophthalmic settings preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
