About the role

Scholarship opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant supporting clinical-skills training and simulation activities in the health programs at Colégio Politécnico da UFSM.

Responsibilities

• Assist the technical supervisor and/or faculty in planning, forecasting, provisioning, and organizing rooms, materials, equipment, and simulated scenarios for practical, theoretical-practical, and clinical-simulation activities in the Technical Nursing and Elderly Care courses.
• Collaborate in the execution of practical, theoretical-practical, and simulation activities offered by faculty or the technical supervisor in classrooms, laboratories, and extracurricular spaces for the Technical Nursing, Elderly Care, and Pharmacy courses, as well as for high-school programs as needed.
• Assist in the specific care required for the maintenance and conservation of materials, equipment, and simulation mannequins used in practical, theoretical-practical, and clinical-simulation activities.
• Collaborate in guiding students on the correct use of equipment and materials available in the laboratories, as well as the proper disposal of health-care waste.
• Assist the technical supervisor or faculty in controlling the quantities of consumable materials used in practical, theoretical-practical, and simulation activities or in monitoring actions.
• Collaborate in monitoring actions for the Technical Nursing and Elderly Care courses.

Requirements

• Be a regularly enrolled and attending student in the Nursing undergraduate program or the Technical Nursing program at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria.
• Have personal data (email and phone) updated in UFSM portals.
• Have a personal checking account at a bank authorized to receive payments through SIAFI (Integrated Financial Administration System) to enable scholarship implementation.
• Not hold any other scholarship of any nature, except for the Socioeconomic Benefit (BSE) or occasional aid.

Benefits

• Monthly scholarship of R$750.00 (seven hundred fifty reais) during the validity period (February 1 to December 31, 2026).
• Coverage under personal accident insurance during scholarship working hours.
• Defined schedule for scholarship activities without prejudice to other academic activities.
• Receive necessary guidance for performing scholarship duties.

Schedule

• 20 (twenty) weekly in-person hours.

Selection process

Selection will be based on:

• Analysis of the student’s academic transcript (maximum 5 points).
• Individual interview assessing competencies, skills, and experiences related to the project’s theme, as well as prior scholarship experience (maximum 4 points).
• Availability to fulfill 20 weekly hours of scholarship activities (maximum 1 point).

Required documents (in PDF): proof of enrollment, simplified academic transcript, and a schedule specifying available shifts and hours to fulfill the 20 weekly in-person hours.
