Retention Marketing Specialist
About the role
At Everlane, our E-Commerce team is at the forefront of creating meaningful and lasting relationships with our customers. We believe great products start with great values — that's why we partner with ethical factories, use high-quality and more sustainably sourced materials, and share the true cost of everything we make. As we continue to grow, our team is focused on building a best-in-class customer experience that reflects our mission and drives long-term loyalty.
We're looking for a Retention Marketing Specialist to help build and optimize the email and SMS programs that keep our customers coming back. You'll get hands-on with campaign execution while also testing new segmentation approaches, building out new lifecycle flows, and pushing our retention program toward best practice. You're excited by both the craft of a well-built campaign and the curiosity of figuring out why it worked. This position reports directly to the Retention Marketing Manager. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners across the business to bring campaigns to life and translate insights into action.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and deploy campaigns across email and SMS.
- Partner with the Retention Marketing Manager to test new segmentation strategies and surface opportunities to improve targeting and personalization.
- Build out and optimize lifecycle flows, including welcome, abandon, post-purchase, replenishment, winback, VIP, and churn-risk.
- Support list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance across email and SMS channels.
- Move fluidly between execution and analysis, adapting quickly as business priorities shift.
- Stay current on lifecycle marketing trends and bring fresh ideas and best practices to the team.
- Prepare and leverage email and SMS reporting on an ongoing basis to inform go-forward decisions.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in email/SMS or lifecycle marketing, ideally in online retail/e-commerce.
- Hands-on experience with an ESP platform like Klaviyo, Attentive, Emarsys, or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of HTML to build emails.
- A test-and-learn mentality and genuine curiosity about what drives customer behavior.
- A strong eye for detail and a QA-first approach to campaign execution.
- Comfort working with data to inform segmentation and testing decisions.
- A collaborative spirit and enjoy partnering across teams.
