About the role

This position holds the overall responsibility for efficiently moving furniture to the showroom floor, as well as unboxing, assembling, and re-boxing a wide variety of furniture. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Furniture Assembly & Construction - Accurately and properly assembling furniture according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring all pieces are constructed safely and meet quality standards.
  • Furniture Movement - Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of furniture, ensuring items are safely transported to designated areas on the showroom floor.
  • Customer Assistance - Assisting customers with merchandise pick-up, ensuring a smooth and efficient process, and offering excellent customer service throughout.
  • Inventory Management - Maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper tracking of products, and reporting any discrepancies or damaged items promptly.
  • Unboxing & Re-boxing - Unpacking new furniture and preparing it for display, as well as re-boxing items as necessary for storage or shipping.
  • Showroom Maintenance - Assisting with the organization and display of furniture in the showroom to ensure a visually appealing and safe environment.
  • Safety Compliance - Adhering to safety protocols while handling furniture, using the proper lifting techniques and tools to prevent injury and ensure the safety of all employees and customers.
  • Self-Motivated - Must be proactive, able to work independently, and demonstrate initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Power Tool Proficiency - Must have the ability to safely and effectively use various power tools for furniture assembly.
  • Schedule Flexibility - Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a 75lb physical lift test prior to employment, demonstrating the ability to lift and handle heavy furniture items.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a warehouse or retail setting preferred.
