Retail Visual Merchandising Lead

Starting rate: $22.25 per hour for a 40-hour work week. Store hours: Monday–Saturday 10 AM–8 PM, Sunday 11 AM–7 PM.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and implement a flexible visual merchandising strategy that adapts to the wide variety of product arriving in the outlet
• Manage product flow within the outlet, maximizing product per square foot
• Serve as an authentic brand ambassador, leading and creating a best-in-class customer experience by connecting customers with Wayfair’s online home assortment brought to life in-store
• Master and communicate Wayfair’s brand story with polished professionalism
• Amplify the Wayfair brand by being an integral part of a high-performing, customer-centric team
• Deliver on sales and service KPIs, productivity standards, and profitability goals across all omnichannel platforms with best-in-class selling standards
• Maintain leadership presence through effective floor management and resource allocation
• Manage and monitor stock levels, merchandise adjacencies, presentations, signing, and assortment to ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked
• Maintain visual standards required by Wayfair and Tanger Outlets
• Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back-of-house standards during floor leadership shifts
• Perform opening and closing routines; supervise associates to meet financial goals and deliver best-in-class customer service
• Participate in operational store activities: bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment, substitutions, and general store upkeep
• Engage in a high-energy, dynamic work environment with rapid changes in products, promotions, offerings, and operations
• Live by, emulate, and guide by Wayfair’s People Principles every day
• As Keyholder, open and close the store

Requirements

• Retail experience in visual merchandising or education in visual merchandising/interior design
• 2+ years of leadership or experience managing a team
• Brick-and-mortar retail experience; furniture or home goods preferred
• Prior visual merchandising experience in outlet or off-price retail environments preferred
• Track record of thriving in a fast-paced and changing environment

Skills

• Strong organization, self-motivation, communication, and relationship management skills
• Excellent verbal and active listening skills
• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Technical acumen to learn necessary software, including POS systems; experience with Google Cloud G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) preferred
• Ability to process information and merchandise through computer and POS register systems

• Occasionally sit; regularly climb or balance; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Regularly, frequently, or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Schedule

Shifts vary and may include up to two hours before or after store hours. Schedules are provided at least two weeks in advance, with opportunities to trade shifts with teammates. Store hours: Monday–Saturday 10 AM–8 PM, Sunday 11 AM–7 PM.
