Responsibilities
- Oversee the training process for new employees, focusing on FFP culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and various associate responsibilities.
- Ensure that all team members are held accountable for their individual KPIs and objectives.
- Develop staff by enhancing their knowledge and offering opportunities for ongoing growth; establish succession plans to prepare associates for future promotions.
- Manage store schedules, oversee labor costs, and adjust to business conditions according to weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales.
- Plan payroll and scheduling based on store traffic to guarantee that the team is adequately staffed to assist customers effectively.
- Utilize POS and company software systems to execute essential business directives like price adjustments and ticketing procedures.
- Train associates on loss prevention, ensuring adherence to company policies during daily store activities.
- Maintain appropriate product levels in both the greenhouse and on the sales floor by strategically planning and managing floor replenishment.
- Analyze sales figures, interpret trends, and forecast future sales to manage all controllable costs and keep operations profitable.
- Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
- Multi-task and handle projects simultaneously, assisting in the cleaning and upkeep of the koi fish, plants, greenhouses, store tanks, and ensuring the overall property is well-kept at all times.
- Recognize appropriate moments to refer a customer to another department within the organization, collecting all relevant information.
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience in Retail Store Management or similar industry.
- 3-4 years of experience managing and leading a team of associates.
- Heavy machinery operation experience (a plus).
- Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical requirements involving the exertion of force up to 45 pounds, including standing, lifting, and walking flights of stairs.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Availability for varied weekly shifts including weekends, holidays, peak seasons, open and closings as needed.
- Familiarity with ponds, aquariums, aquatic plants, or fish (a plus).
