Retail Store Manager

About the role

Carpenter's Corner is hiring a Store Manager to support the mission of Carpenter's Place through our store, Carpenter's Corner Thrift and More. The Carpenter's Corner Manager is responsible for the overall management of the store's day-to-day operations. The position oversees all facets of the "thrift and more" concept, while playing an active role in planning Carpenter's Corner's future growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor store operations to drive revenue growth.
• Select, train, coach and schedule personnel (employees, volunteers and program participants) to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Demonstrate and promote superior customer service; lead by example and expect the highest level of customer service.
• Implement and monitor systems for daily cash and credit transactions and deposits.
• Responsible for accurate handling of donated assets, including merchandise flow, pricing and merchandising sales floor.
• Manage maintenance and appearance of the store regarding appearance, cleanliness, safety, security and utility.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Ability to lead, train, and manage staff and volunteers.
• Knowledge of marketing, merchandising and sales.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to adapt to change.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Sales, or Marketing is preferred.
• Two years of experience in staff management and development are preferred, or any combination of education and experience.

Schedule

Flexible schedule required, including opening shifts, closing shifts, and at least two Saturdays per month.
