Retail Store Manager ($55K-$65K, Exp. Managing a Team of 20+ Req.)

Our client, an established retailer with multiple locations across Wisconsin, seeks a hands-on Store Manager for their Big Bend location. You will oversee overall store performance, lead seasonal inventory resets, and manage a team that fluctuates between 23–32 employees. The ideal candidate is resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity during the first-year cycle of resets. Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to support store operations, profitability, and customer experience
• Implement and monitor merchandising resets and marketing plans
• Oversee all staff (23–32 people), including Assistant Managers and department leads
• Provide coaching to store associates and Assistant Managers
• Create daily plans and staff assignments
• Oversee inventory, scheduling, and customer service processes
• Track store performance, KPIs, and proactively address areas of concern
• Start up computer systems for opening and support cashiers with troubleshooting
• Ensure daily cycle counts are completed and sent to the corporate office
• Align store culture with company vision and values
• Develop strong partnerships with store personnel, buyers, vendors, and corporate leadership
• Protect and maintain company assets and resources
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a retail store manager with full ownership of operations
• Management experience with 20+ team members
• Highly hands-on and comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with Inventory & POS software
• Ability to attend offsite training 1 day per week for the first 3 months
• Ability to work 100% on-site

Pay

$55,000–$65,000 + annual bonus potential

Schedule

• Off-season: 40 hours per week
• Busy season: 42–44 hours per week
• Peak season: up to 50 hours per week
• Store hours: most days 9 am–6 pm or 7 pm (openers arrive 1 hour prior)
• Local travel: ~5-day trips annually
