Retail Store Management Internship Summer 2027 - The Bronx, NY

About the role

As a Retail Management Intern, you will gain hands-on experience leading a retail team, engaging directly with customers, and learning the day-to-day operations of a successful store. Working alongside Store Managers and District Leaders, you will develop leadership skills, learn retail management best practices, and gain exposure to the broader organization through market travel experiences. You will also complete a business-focused project that addresses a real business opportunity and present your findings and recommendations to leadership. Throughout the internship, you will learn how to motivate and manage a store team, analyze business performance, and understand how operational and strategic decisions impact both customer satisfaction and store results. Responsibilities

• Support operational activities including merchandise handling, inventory management, and stocking
• Help the store meet customer needs during busy shopping periods, including evenings and weekends
• Lead and motivate a store team
• Analyze business performance and operational metrics
• Complete a business-focused project addressing a real business opportunity
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership
• Gain exposure to broader organization through market travel experiences

Education

• Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program
• Expected graduation between May 2027 and May 2028
• Desired majors: Business Management/Administration, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, Retail Studies, General Business

Qualifications

• Available to work 35 hours per week for the full 10-week program on a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends
• 1–3 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced work environment (retail, food service, hospitality, etc.)
• Effective communication, problem solving, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience highly desired
• Interest in pursuing a career in retail store management

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $20–$22 per hour. (A secondary range of $19.00–$28.00 is also noted but marked to be disregarded.)

Schedule

35 hours per week for the full 10-week program on a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
