About the role
The Retail Store Associate position at Savers / Value Village is designed to create an awesome experience for customers, donors, and other team members. This role supports our mission of championing reuse and inspiring a future where secondhand is second nature.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to provide exceptional service and ensure they have a positive shopping experience.
- Manage inventory, including restocking shelves, sorting donations, and maintaining cleanliness of the store.
- Handle cash transactions and manage customer returns and exchanges according to company policies.
- Communicate effectively with donors to ensure they understand the process for donating items and the benefits of doing so.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
