About the role

The Retail Store Associate position at Savers / Value Village is designed to create an awesome experience for customers, donors, and other team members. This role supports our mission of championing reuse and inspiring a future where secondhand is second nature.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to provide exceptional service and ensure they have a positive shopping experience.
• Manage inventory, including restocking shelves, sorting donations, and maintaining cleanliness of the store.
• Handle cash transactions and manage customer returns and exchanges according to company policies.
• Communicate effectively with donors to ensure they understand the process for donating items and the benefits of doing so.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
