Retail Store Associate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-obsessed Studio Sales Associate to join our team in our Williamsburg studio location. This hourly, non-exempt position reports to the Studio Manager and involves creating an exceptional piercing and shopping experience while maintaining Rowan’s high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Warmly greet and welcome customers, creating a celebratory environment. Check customers in or help them book appointments using POS and software systems. Assist customers in choosing and styling piercings and hypoallergenic non-piercing jewelry. Answer questions about piercing procedures, aftercare, and product details.
• Sales & Product Knowledge: Promote and upsell Rowan’s products, including non-piercing jewelry, aftercare kits, and related items. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Rowan’s product offerings, materials, styles, and care instructions. Meet or exceed individual sales targets and performance metrics.
• Studio Maintenance + Operations: Keep the studio clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Follow health and safety regulations, particularly for piercing procedures and hygiene. Assist with inventory management, including restocking, pricing, and maintaining visual displays.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Studio Manager and Studio Nurse Piercers to provide seamless service. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and product knowledge. Support studio-wide goals and maintain a positive work environment.
• Administrative Duties: Process transactions accurately, including sales, returns, and exchanges. Conduct regular stock checks and replenish displays. Maintain accurate customer records, including consent forms and aftercare instructions.

Requirements

• Retail or service industry experience is a plus.
• Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

• Ability to thrive in a busy environment and stay productive during quieter periods.
• Enjoys interacting with people and is friendly, outgoing, and easy to get along with.

• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Physical tasks may include climbing ladders, bending, lifting, pushing, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
• Must be able to stand for a full 8-hour shift.
