Retail Stock - Tampa Rack

About the role

Thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, Nordstrom Rack team members continuously move and collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. Ensuring a quick and easy customer experience and keeping the store clean and clutter-free is a key part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays "runway ready" and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
• Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in-store, online and mobile), including operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky sometimes heavy items including boxes, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience.
• Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor.
• Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
• Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment.
• Adequately adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards.
• Promote initiatives like our Nordstrom Rewards program.

Stock Support and Fulfillment

• Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
• Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards.
• Prepare and ship customer’s orders following quality, packing and shipping standards.
• Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments in accordance with our inventory control processes.
• Aid in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
• Provide general support to the store, e.g. set up special events, organize backroom, markdowns, and relocate store fixtures.

Qualifications

Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills, accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership, organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, the ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers, frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds, Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
