About the Role

This role will handle account management responsibilities for a national retailer in the Southeastern US region. The Seed Account Manager will be a key asset in building and implementing our long-term strategy with the account, including multiyear agreements, the yearly business cycle, and identifying areas where efficiencies can be gained. This role involves direct linkage to internal and external stakeholders for the Pioneer and PhytoGen seed brands.

The Seed Account Manager owns relationships with the account, represents the account internally to Vylor leadership, communicates opportunities and issues to internal Pioneer, PhytoGen, and Brevant teams, and negotiates long-term and annual business items. This role also serves in a consultative manner, adding value by leveraging new insights and processes to differentiate impactfully. The position includes limited responsibilities for the Brevant brand, offering growth opportunities across three well-respected and fast-growing seed brands.

Responsibilities

  • Enable long-term vision with Vylor seed brands within the account.
  • Annual strategic planning, goal setting, and tracking throughout the year.
  • Customer support and issue resolution that cannot be handled at the local level.
  • Relationship management—building bridges within Vylor and the account.
  • Connect key contacts within the customer to their peers within Vylor for growth.
  • Forecast sales internally and externally.
  • Reconciliation of Pioneer, PhytoGen, and Brevant seed programs, incentives, and other payments.
  • Sales and account growth—identify new business opportunities where applicable.
  • Q4 management and prepay solicitation aligned with company and customer objectives.
  • Develop joint marketing collaborations between seed brands and the customer.
  • Handle risk management for Vylor.
  • Close collaboration and coordination with the Vylor seed licensing team.
  • Organize corporate training events for employees regarding seed products.

Requirements

  • Ability to think big, envision future possibilities, and translate them into breakthrough strategies for Vylor and the account.
  • Strong collaboration skills to build partnerships and work toward shared objectives.
  • Commitment to Vylor values and demonstration of Vylor’s competencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, especially in sales with progressive leadership experience.
  • A strong seed background is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with proven project management and financial skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong follow-up abilities and issue resolution management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $129,000 to $199,000, reflecting a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Actual base pay is determined based on geographic location and candidate qualifications.
