Retail Sales - Temporary - Part Time

About the Role

San Francisco Wine Trading Company, a division of JJ Buckley Fine Wines, is seeking energetic, professional, and highly motivated individuals to join our retail and in-house, relationship-based Wine Consultant team. This is a temporary, part-time position averaging 20 hours per week, with a Thursday - Saturday schedule based in our West Portal, San Francisco shop.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed service in-store and online to a demanding customer base
• Build and maintain customer relationships
• Compellingly present wines and regions to customers
• Assist in maintaining store cleanliness
• Write tasting notes and speak in-depth about specific wine products, regions, and varietals
• Utilize technology and sales writing skills to support customer interactions

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent wine industry-related experience (wine retail/wholesale, restaurant, or other)
• 2+ years of retail experience
• Strong knowledge of the fine wine market, especially Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa, Tuscany, and Rhone
• Familiarity with top wines per region and current market pricing
• WSET, CSW, or CSM certification preferred but not required
• Ability to type 35-40 words per minute
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new technology/software quickly
• Must be 21 years old
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Local to San Francisco

Pay

$30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
