About the role
Responsible for developing relationships with Key Decision Makers (KDMs) within the middle and upper New Jersey, NY area near White Plains, NYC, and/or Long Island geographic territory encompassing approximately 30-40 food stores. The role involves daily sales calls to stores to increase Danone sales and meet or exceed sales-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Responsibilities
- Execute and close sales calls for assigned store accounts to achieve target sales goals.
- Manage the timely execution of all sales programs and initiatives to ensure maximum sales and profitability for Danone and the retailer.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase sales, space, and productivity in accounts while maintaining satisfactory customer service.
- Maintain appropriate product inventory levels and ensure accounts meet company merchandising standards.
- Transport, replace, and maintain point-of-sale advertising as appropriate for accounts.
- Place Point of Sale (POS) materials and leverage to drive incremental sales and share of shelf.
- Secure, build, and maintain quality product displays within store accounts.
- Execute market sales blitzes.
- Meet or exceed sales-related KPI targets related to increasing sales of authorized products.
- Maintain distribution of all authorized products within the assigned territory and increase sales to assigned store accounts.
- Pre-sell inventory for everyday and promotional events by leveraging relationships with KDMs.
- Ensure customer compliance with promotional programs.
- Achieve more advantageous shelf positioning and increased shelf space for Danone items.
- Build and maintain rapport with store KDMs (e.g., Dairy Manager, General Manager, Assistant Managers, and Grocery Managers) to meet and exceed sales expectations.
- Be the Dairy Manager’s ‘first call’ and the store’s dairy and protein expert.
- Represent the store-level customer point of view internally with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Input retail activity into a scorecard tablet and manage the KPI scorecard for the respective area.
Requirements
- 4-year college degree.
- 1-2 years of sales experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

- Willingness to drive and work in the field 5 days per week (early hours start 6-7 AM dependent on stores/KDM availability).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently within a large territory and multitask across many store accounts.
- Physical labor occasionally required, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000.

Schedule
