About the role
As the Sales Manager, you support the Store Leadership Team by leading strong Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts and ensuring a stellar guest experience. You oversee daily store operations as needed, train and motivate associates, and drive sales results while representing company values.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales by maximizing Fitting Room and Salesfloor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best-in-class in-store experience.
- Lead and motivate the team through O’Neill’s core values, holding associates accountable to service standards on the Salesfloor and in the Fitting Room.
- Train and develop associates to maintain outstanding service and a Guest First culture.
- Set clear, attainable goals for Sales Associates and provide real-time coaching and performance feedback.
- Celebrate outstanding performance to drive engagement and motivation.
- Execute and innovate daily visual and operational procedures, including shipment processing, merchandising, and visual standards.
- Ensure Fitting Rooms are always guest-ready and meet O’Neill standards.
- Maintain store safety and Asset Protection standards, adhering to policies and procedures with integrity.
Requirements
- Previous experience leading teams in a retail management role.
- Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, priority-setting, and time management skills.
- Flexible availability to work during peak guest shopping hours.
- Passion for O’Neill product and retail operations.

Physical Demands
- Ability to read reports, schedules, and point-of-sale screens.
- Effective communication with customers and employees in a retail environment.
- Stand and walk on the sales floor for up to 85% or more of the assigned shift.
- Climb, reach, bend, stoop, and kneel to stock merchandise and access product in the sales floor and stockroom.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Use hands and fingers to operate a cash register, handle merchandise, and use standard store equipment.
