Retail Sales - Kids' Apparel & Shoes - The Mall in Columbia

Nordstrom is seeking a Salesperson who is passionate about fashion and styling, with the ability to cultivate and grow a customer following both digitally and in-store.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital selling using effective selling tools (including text and social media).
• Build lasting relationships with customers and provide exceptional service tailored to their needs.
• Offer honest and confident feedback to customers about style and fit.
• Develop fashion and product expertise to enhance customer interactions.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a customer-ready department through tasks such as filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and light cleaning.
• Grow customer relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
• Occasionally perform duties in other departments as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Handling bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $16.25 - $16.25, depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Commission structures vary by department:

• Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales: 3% to 14.5%.
• Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales: 3%.

This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
