About the role

We are seeking an entry-level, full-time Retail Sales Associate to join our Grand Opening Team at our newest Cash America Pawn location. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity, with the potential to earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $3.00 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Pay

$14.00 to $15.00 per hour, plus commission up to 8% on transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions
• Perform non-management open/close procedures
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays
• Process sales and loan transactions according to established policies and regulations
• Handle cash and negotiable items per company procedures
• Answer incoming calls following company standards
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience
• Complete assigned training
• Assist with customer inquiries and problem resolution
• Work with a variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations)
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified
• Ability to assist customers outside the building (e.g., parking lots, exterior storage)
• Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in basic math calculations
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as needed
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office machines

Commission Plan

Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Additional details are provided during the interview process.
