Retail Sales Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate (15–20 hrs per week) with a passion for nature to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, ability to provide excellent customer service, a desire to learn, and a team-player mentality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service: greet and assist customers, and provide expert advice on bird feeding, birdwatching, and nature-related products.
• Assist in backroom stocking, taking inventory, jugging seed, and maintaining cleanliness of the front and back.
• Assist in e-commerce shipping.
• Deliver high-energy customer service.

Qualifications

• Backyard bird feeding hobbyist or someone with a strong interest in backyard bird feeding or nature.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20–50 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and spend extended periods on your feet.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including opening, closing, weekend shifts, and busy holiday periods and sales.
• Previous experience with sales and customer service is highly preferred; or willingness, ability, and trainability to do such (we are not looking for cashiers—we seek sales associates who will engage with customers).
• Comfort with computers/technology and ability to use a computer-based POS system (training provided).
• Drama-free.
