Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

Granite City Electric is seeking a customer service-oriented Retail Lighting Showroom Sales Associate for their South Yarmouth, MA location. The ideal candidate must be goal-oriented, motivated, and familiar with lighting and decorative trends while embracing GCE standards and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Ensure outstanding customer service by providing a welcoming environment, greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining high standards, and possessing strong product knowledge.
• Stay updated with and continuously learn new lighting and home fashion trends to enhance sales and meet or exceed performance targets.
• Set up and arrange merchandise in the showroom to effectively promote products and services.
• Comply with all GCE policies and procedures.
• Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet retail operation requirements.
• Perform general upkeep, cleanliness, and facility maintenance.
• Contribute to other projects and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Flexible availability for Monday through Saturday, with Saturday shifts required.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software.
• Adhere to GCE core values: Pride, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect.
• Proficiency in processing information and merchandise through the Eclipse computer system.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete all necessary documentation.
• Physical capability to move and handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Reliability in arriving on time and taking appropriate breaks.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions.
• Ability to coach-able and actively participate in the coaching process.

Education and/or Experience

• A high school diploma.
• Prior lighting/retail sales experience preferred.
• ALA Certification is preferred.
• A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
