Retail Sales Associate

Base pay starts at $15.10 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

About the role

Floor & Decor’s Sales Associates play a key role in continuously providing customers with friendly, accurate service and support in finding products to complete their project. Our Sales Associates contribute to a fast-paced, safe environment by keeping sales departments clean and well stocked. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend products, and excite customers about their purchase
• Provide above-and-beyond customer service and exceed customer expectations
• Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure they are clean, shoppable, and safe
• Work in cooperation with management and team members to achieve sales goals
• Process customers at checkout using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
• Follow established cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures
• Create price tags and merchandise signs
• Stock, tag, and display merchandise
• Act and work in a manner consistent with the company’s core values
• Demonstrate and understand compliance with the company’s safety processes
• Answer telephone according to company guidelines
• Be available to assist in other areas of the store as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Knowledge of basic math skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
• Some positions may require completion of forklift certifications through Floor & Decor
• Where permissible by state law, certification to use heavy equipment requires successful passing of a drug test

Working conditions

• Occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate

Physical and sensory requirements

• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Store hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pickup hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
