Retail Sales Associate
About the role
Cox Communications is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to create exceptional customer experiences and drive sales. This role involves evening, weekend, and holiday work, and requires collaboration with Store Managers and other team members.
Responsibilities
- Explain and demonstrate product capabilities based on customer needs
- Offer suggestions and drive sales
- Meet or exceed targets for customer experience, sales, and retention
- Avoid customer complaints by providing excellent service
- Assist with store operations, including opening and closing
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Participate in workshops, special events, and product demos
- Support fellow sales associates
- Stay updated on current and competitor products through training
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Up to 2 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literacy and aptitude for learning communication products
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds to manage stock room inventory
- Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken)
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Up to 2 years of relevant work experience
- Some college experience with a focus in sales, business, or management
- One year of experience in related fields (Sales, Retail Sales, Service Industry, etc.)
- Experience selling Wireless/Mobile products
Benefits
The targeted total compensation for this role is $50,708 ($24.38/hr.), with high earners reaching an average annual compensation of over $65,366 ($31.42/hr.). Compensation includes a full-time hourly base rate of $17/hr. plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,279. Employees also receive a ramp period of up to 2 months to adjust to commission earnings. Pay
The hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.29 - $22.88/hour, with an annual incentive/commission target of $15,348.00. Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional paid time off includes bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
