Retail Sales Associate - 3750
We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.
About the role
The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on customer engagement, assist with inquiries, and resolve issues. The role involves working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).
This full-time position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay depends on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions.
- Perform non-management open/close procedures.
- Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
- Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Handle cash and negotiable items following established procedures.
- Answer incoming calls per company standards.
- Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
- Complete assigned training and other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Assist customers in exterior areas (parking lots, storage buildings, etc.).
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic math calculations.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate with ability to operate POS systems and office machines.

Pay
$11.00 to $13.00 per hour, plus commission. Associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Commission details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule
Most stores open at 9:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
